President fills more Cabinet slots

The president of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh, has made further ministerial appointments with some slots still to be filled. The list below updates that published in our 8th February posting.

Positions filled so far are:

Mrs. Isatou Njie-Saidy Vice President and Minister of Women’s Affairs
Mambury Njie Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs
Sheriff Gomez Minister of the Interior
Lamin Jobarteh Attorney General and Minister of Justice
Kebba S. Touray Minister of Trade, Regional Integration and Employment
Dr. Mamadou Tangara Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Corporation and Gambians Abroad
Fatou Mas Jobe-Njie Minister of Tourism and Culture
Abdou Kolley Minister of Fisheries and Water Resources
Dr. Mariama Sarr Ceesay Minister of Higher Education, Research Science and Technology
Ms Fatou Lamin Faye Minister of Basic and Secondary Education
Ms. Fatim Badjie Minister of Health and Social Welfare
Ms Fatou Gaye Minister of Forestry and the Environment.
Lamin Juwara Minister for Local Government and Lands
Alieu K. Jammeh Minister of Youth and Sports

Two Deputy Minister appointments have been made. These are:

Francis Lity Mboge; Deputy Minister of Works, Construction and Infrastructure and Mr. Solomon Owens; Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

  • Ministry of Communications, Information Technology
  • Ministry of Energy
  • Ministry of Petroleum
  • Ministry of Economic Planning and Industrial Development
