President Michel Aoun announces new Cabinet

Following discussions with Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Saad Hariri, President Michel Aoun has announced a new 30 member Cabinet. Only one party chose not to be part of the Cabinet and that is the Maronite Christian democrat Kataeb Party which has five seats in the 128 seat parliament. The ‘national unity’ government is expected to last only a few months with sufficient time to make changes to the electoral law.
