President shuffles Cabinet


President Malam Bacai Sanhá has reshuffled his Cabinet, controversially keeping his Prime Minister Carlos Domingos Gomes Júnior who has been heavily criticised by opponents.

Two ministers left their posts (Territorial Administration and Social Solidarity) and nine changes were made.

The new line up is as follows:

Baciro Dja Minister of Defence and Freedom Fighters
Valentina Luísa Mendes Minister of Social Solidarity
Mamadou Saliu Djalo Pires Minister for Foreign Affairs
Adelino Mano Queita Minister for Justice
Denis Cabelol Na Fantchamna Minister for Territorial Administration
Fernando Gomes Minister of the Interior
Aristides Ocante da Silva Minister of Public Administration
Maria Dias Sami Secretary of State for the Environment
Tomas Barbosa Minister for Fisheries
