President shuffles six ministers and one governor

President Rafael Correa has reshuffled six of his Cabinet ministers just ten months before presidential elections.

The newspaper El Comercio reports that in the five years since the president was elected in 2007 he has made 140 appointments or roughly 2.3 appointments per month.

The six ministers and one governor appointed on Monday were:

Miguel Carvajal Minister for Defence
Javier Ponce Minister of Agriculture
Richard Espinoza Minister for Social Development
Augusto Espinoza Human Talent
Juan Vacas Minister for Labour
Doris Soliz Minister for Economic and Social Inclusion
Viviana Bonilla Governor of Guayas Province
