President Teodoro Obiang Nguema starts Cabinet building

President Teodoro Obiang Nguema has promoted his son Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue to the position of Vice President in charge of Defence and State Security. The announcement was made on state television. Other appointments announced yesterday include:

Francisco Pascual Obama Asue; Prime Minister

Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene; First Deputy Minister of the Government, in Charge of Political, Democracy and Minister of Interior and Local Corporations

Ángel Mesie Mibuy; Second Deputy Prime Minister, Responsible for Relations with Parliament and Legal Affairs

Alfonso Nsue Mokuy; Third Deputy Prime Minister, in charge of Human Rights

Ignacio Milam Tang; Chairman of the Council of the Republic

Other appointments in a new government will be announced in the next few days following the 24th April presidential election.
