President undergoes slow change of Ministerial positions

Deputy Minister of Finance and Director of the Treasury Office of the Ministry of Finance Almaz Baketayev has been appointed the Acting Minister of Finance by President Almazbek Atambayev. This follows the dismissal of the former Finance Minister Olga Lavrov on 13th April.

Yesterday the Minister of Transport and Communications, Kalykbek Sultanov, was dismissed and in February Minister of Justice, Almambet Shykmamatov, resigned following a spat with the President’s office.

The latest formal notices as published on the Presidency website are as follows:

“Kalykbek Sultanov is dismissed as the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic

Today, April 21, 2015, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev signed a decree according to which, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 87 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, part 4-1 of Article 24 of the Constitutional Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic” resolves:

Accept the resignation Sultanov Kalykbek Imanalievicha as the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Decree shall enter into force upon signature.”

“Olga Lavrov dismissed as the Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic
