Rawat resigns Ministry to become Chief Minister of Uttarakhand

President Pranab Mukherjee has accepted the resignation of Harish Rawat, Minister of Water Resources. Rawat (66) resigned to take up his new post as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand in northern India.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, will take on the additional responsibility of the Ministry of Water Resources.
