Published

Following the split by Ehud Barak and four others from the Labor Party to form a new party called ‘Independence’, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has carried out a limited reshuffle.

Barak and three of his four followers have remained in the government in what is seen as a strengthening of their position.

• Ehud Barak remains at Defence
• Matan Vilnai becomes Minister for the Home Front
• Orit Noked becomes Minister for Agriculture
• Shalom Simhon becomes Minister for Industry and Commerce Minit.

The fourth follower of Ehud Barak, Einat Wulf, will not receive a Cabinet position but will Chair the new Party.
