Sata reshuffles

President Michael Sata has carried out a reshuffle of his Cabinet. Seven ministries have been affected by the reshuffle but local media focussed on the sacking of a deputy minister.

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Alfredah Kasembe was dismissed with immediate effect, apparently for being close to Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba, a former Minister of Defence who is currently at odds with the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

The list of Cabinet changes made yesterday is as follows:

Harry Kalaba; Minister of Foreign Affairs

Wylbur Simusa; Minister of Agriculture and Livestock

Emmanuel Chenda; Minister of Local Government and Housing

Emerine Kabanshi; Minister of Community Development, Mother and Child Health

Mwansa Kapeya; Minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection

Robert Sichinga; Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry

Dr. Joseph Katema; Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services
