Slovenia’s Finance Minister resigns

Published

Slovenia’s Finance Minister Dušan Mramor resigned his portfolio on Wednesday citing personal reasons. Development Minister Alenka Smerkolj will cover the portfolio until a successor is appointed.

The real reason for the resignation is believed to be linked to a police raid on the Central Bank on 6th July along with the offices of consultancy firms Deloitte and Ernst & Young in connection with allegations of abuse of office and official duties during a bank bailout in 2013.
