Sports Minister becomes new DPM

President Vladimir Putin has appointed his sports minister, Vitaly Mutko, as Deputy Prime Minister. Pavel Kolobkov has been appointed the new Minister of Sports.

The announcements as made on the presidential website are as follows:

“Vitaly Mutko appointed Deputy Prime Minister

Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order on the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

In accordance with Article 83(d) of the Russian Constitution, the President relieved Vitaly Mutko of his current post and appointed him Deputy Prime Minister.”

And

“Pavel Kolobkov appointed Minister of Sport

Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order on the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation.
