President Michel Martelly is to propose Garry Conille a former Chief of Staff to Bill Clinton and a physician to parliament to be his prime minister. Two previous names submitted by President Martelly were both rejected by parliament leading to a four month impasse.

The president was elected on 20th March and sworn in on 14th May. He has been unable to form a government following the standoff over a prime minister.
