Tourism Minister told to go

Published

Amidst talk of an imminent Cabinet reshuffle, the Prime Minister has told tourism minister, Subodh Kant Sahai to submit his papers following allegations that he canvassed for coal blocks for members of his family.

In the latest stage of the so-called Coalgate scandal, this move suggests that if a reshuffle goes ahead, coal minister, Sriprakash Jaiswal; Lokmat Group chief and Congress MP, Vijay Darda and DMK member and minister of state for information and broadcasting, S. Jagathrakshakan may also not survive.

It is widely expected that Rahul Gandhi may take up an important position when the changes take place.
