Trade and Justice Ministers resign

Yūko Obuchi, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and Midori Matsushima, Minister of Justice resigned this morning following allegations of misuse of political funds.

Both women joined Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Cabinet just over a month ago and they are the first Cabinet resignations suffered by the Prime Minister since he took office in late 2012. Both women refute any wrongdoing.
