Two ministers swap jobs

Published

President Alassane Ouattara has switched the roles of two of his ministers in a reshuffle announced yesterday afternoon.

The press release published on the official government portal did not say why the change had been made, but the previous Education Minister, Ibrahim Cisse Bacongo, had been criticised after an incident last month triggered a riot at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny University in which 20 police officers were injured.

The new ministerial positions are as follows:

Gnamien Konan; Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
Ibrahim Cisse Bacongo; Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform
