Viliam Čislák is new Health Minister

President Andrej Kiska has appointed Viliam Čislák to be the new Minister of Health. He replaces Zuzana Zvolenská who was told to resign three days ago.

Viliam Čislák (42) is an expert in public health management having graduated from the Medical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava and Faculty of Public Health in

Between 1990 and 1991 he worked as an orderly at the University Hospital in Košice and from 1997 to 2003 as a Doctor at the Department of Trauma Surgery University Hospital of L. Pasteur. From 2004 to 2007 he worked as a Doctor at Air-Transport Europe and until 2008 as a Doctor and later Director of Rescue Services Košice.

In April 2012 he was made State Secretary at the Ministry of Health and on 6th November 2014 was appointed Minister of Health.

He is married and has two children.
