VP resigns

Published

Vice president Tin Aung Myint Oo has tendered his resignation apparently for health reasons. The resignation may well lead to a Cabinet reshuffle which has been mooted for some time.

The Vice president was considered a hardliner who opposed the reforms of President Thein Sein and this may well allow the president to bring in more reform minded supporters.
