Yahya Jammeh continues to shuffle

President Yahya Jammeh has been reshuffling his Cabinet again. This time he has appointed new ministers for Transport, Works and Infrastructure and Health, Social Welfare and National Assembly Matters.

The President has appointed himself as Minister of Energy, Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.

“Press Release

The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, acting under the Provisions of Sections 71 (4) (b) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has decided to relieve Mrs. Teneng Mba Jaiteh, Minister of Energy, Mr. Francis Liti Mboge, Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure and Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology of their Cabinet appointments as ministers with immediate effect. Dr. Mamadou Tangara will be redeployed to the Foreign Service.

In the same vein, His Excellency the President acting under the Provisions of Sections 71 (1) and 71 (3) respectively, of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia has redeployed Hon Bala Garba Jahumpa to the Ministry of Transport, Works and Infrastructure as Minister, and appointed Mr. Omar Sey as Minister of Health, Social Welfare and National Assembly Matters with immediate effect from 12th August 2013.

The portfolio of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology and Ministry of Energy are now under the purview of the Office of the President.”
